Bahrain is wealthy, hot, modern and dry. In a way the terrain reminds me of Las Vegas, NV, but without the glitz and casinos. Lots of construction, lots of tall buildings, lots of vacant lots. It feels as if it will double in density in the next five years.
But it has old culture and traditions as well. The people were very friendly and there were many American fast food restaurants to accommodate American Military based there. But the Bahrainian food I found was fabulous. Grilled lamb and chicken.
